CURRENT PROGRAM: Gifts for Life. Donations are accepted that will be sent to the 'Gifts for Life' program that enables families in developing nations to become self-supporting.
ONGOING: We are very excited about our Community Memorial and Prayer Garden. The beautiful and tranquil garden is located between our church and rectory, and contains a captivating water feature and labyrinth. All are welcome to stop by from dawn dusk to reflect, relax or read. The garden is our gift to a world that is very stressed. We hope that many will find peace and renewal when they visit. Our garden is also open for the internment or scattering of the ashes of loved ones. Call our church office (610-941-6666) for more information regarding burials or memorials.
Our primary community outreach is the weekly collection of food donations that are delivered to the Colonial Neighborhood Council and our financial support for the Montgomery County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity through our participation in the Sawyer the Bear Quarters for Quarters Program. We additionally collect can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Our teens recently delivered two large water bottles full of tabs to the Ronald McDonald House at 39th and Chestnut Streets in Philadelphia.
We are glad to participate in the community "Adopt a Family for Christmas Program." One year we were actually able to have the gifts delivered to the family on Christmas Eve by Santa (ask - it's a great story!). We also support the Christmas Gift Collection Prgram and the Backpacks for Kids Program through Episcopal Community Services, and the Warming Philly Clothing Program started by students at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School.
In addition, our congregation provides financial support to Episcopal Relief & Development and Episcopal Community Services throughout the year, and to fund international, national and local disaster relief. We are currently exploring ways to engage in more "hands on" ministries. Each year we invite guest preachers to our church from various agencies to keep us informed about the needs of our neighbors, nearby and far away.
